Jersey Here We Come...The Concours Show.
We spent most of Friday exploring the island and visiting the Jersey War Tunnels as there wasn't anything MG related going on until the evening (and that was basically a get together of all the owners and a welcome to Jersey sort of thing so no cars present). But today was the Concours Show, it was held at St Peter's FC football ground with all the MG's parked on the pitches.. The weather was a bit changeable, sunny & hot one minute, cloudy and cool the next, but at least the rain held off. I didn't count them but there were probably in the region of 200 plus cars present. Here are just a few of them.
An overall shot of the show with previous Concours winners parked right at the front.
The "Z" cars contingent. Left to right, a Trophy blue ZR, a Toyota complete with MG badges (don't ask!), two Trophy blue ZS's, our ZR and a Trophy yellow ZR, pre face lift model.
And from the rear, the two ZR's, neither of us won the Pride Of Ownership competition, that went to one of the ZS's.
Rubber bumper B GT's line up for the camera. Those ones with their bonnets open were entered in the competition.
While rubber bumper roadsters do the same thing.
Two that caught my eye, on the left a rubber bumper roadster restored as a Jubilee model (it was only the GT that was produced as the Jubilee model) and on the right a genuine Jubilee model that had been beautifully restored.
Mark Tossers superb modern MG TF, it looked as if it had just come out of the showroom.
MGA's show off for the camera.
Absolutely superb Dove Grey MGA Twin Cam, the attention to detail shown by it's German owner had to be seen to be believed.
Another superbly restored MGA Coupe, it was just a shame there could only be one winner and that went to the Twin Cam.
A MG TF poses for the camera, I really liked this one, the colour combination seems to suit it perfectly.
There we go, just a few of the cars present, there were far too many to show them all here. It was a superb day and well organised by Sandra and the rest of the Jersey MGOC. The weather sort of co-operated, at least it didn't rain and the sun did come out later in the day, after the show had finished of course! Next up were the driving tests on Sunday morning but first we were off to explore the Corbiere Lighthouse.
